YOU SHOULD BE DANCING

No brand is more colorful, all-encompassing and universal than Benetton. To celebrate its outlook towards uniqueness, but with its ability to include and welcome every form of humanity under its umbrella, the "You Should BE Dancing" project was created.

Under the guidance of Giuliana Matarrese, we asked 5 local heroes to interpret Benetton's feel good attitude. The result? 6 refined, carefree playlists simultaneously capable of putting together the 70s, New Order, Amanda Lear and soul.

He goes by Somne, but his real name is Federico Maccherone, and he's a Milanese producer and DJ who brings together professionals and intellectuals of modern art. After founding the Aura Dinamica label with Portrait (a British producer and artist), he released Risveglio di una città in April 2019, a record that links techno music meant for the dance floor to the Milanese futurism of the early 20th century. As for his favorite place to be? It's obviously behind the console.

THE PLAYLIST BY SOMNE

He goes by Somne, but his birth name is Federico Maccherone: his artistic predilections aside, the Milanese DJ and producer is also known abroad, where he made his name known by collaborating with labels such as NonPlus and Life & Death. He's also authored a recognizable sound, which puts techno music on the dance floor, and he'll be lighting it up at You Should be Dancing with a playlist that mixes Thom Yorke and Bon Iver with Lil Uzi Vert and James Blake. And, of course, there will be Mina too.

ABOUT LAHASNA

Italian, with Moroccan origins, there's nothing LaHasna can't do: DJ, performer, singer, author. Musically bred in London, today she has two albums under her belt, as well as performances at the Montreaux Festival and at Burning Man: her soothing voice will transport you to a parallel universe, getting you to rediscover R'n'B.

PLAYLIST BY LAHASNA

A pilgrimage to the rhythm of music, studded with R'n'B and comfort: LaHasna explores Tay Iwan's Nigerian neo soul and Rema's afrobeat, journeying through Jamaican reggae by Stefflon Don, the genre's new pioneer. The motto? "SexySad".

ABOUT SARA MOSCHINI

Head of fashion at grazia.it and Grazia Factory, Sara Moschini stands out from the crowd through her obsession for red (from sixties leggings to her head of hair) and for a style that blends Florence Welch's baroque romanticism with Tori Amos' floral psychedelic trip. She lives in Milan, even if her natural element is back home, immersed in the poetic and hazy Marches valley which looks like it comes right out of a Tolkein book.

THE PLAYLIST BY SARA MOSCHINI

A musical horseback ride through R'n'B stepping back into the early 2000s (get ready to fall back in love with the sensual beats of Aaliyah) and cheeky indie pop from today's scene, with Caroline Polachek as her headliner. Let if flow.

ABOUT GIADA BIAGGI

Blonde, with a degree in philosophy, an unhealthy obsession with Freudian psychology and Sartre essays: Giada Biaggi is a walking oxymoron. Author of the book Sylvia Plath's Bikini and stand-up comedian, she pokes fun at the hang-ups and contradictions of radical chic Milanesi. While still waiting for her first husband, you can find her at the Balera dell'Ortica, between readings and gin tonics, alongside her faithful cocker spaniel, Vittorio.

THE PLAYLIST BY GIADA BIAGGI

New Order and Amanda Lear on the same playlist? Of course, because Giada Biaggi's choices go down smooth like a happy-hour margarita, overlooking sunset: don't ask too many questions, just enjoy the beauty of the moment. Bottom's up.

THE PLAYLIST BY GIULIANA MATARRESE

Sound vibrations moving from the 70s with The Slits to today, with Wet Leg, the illegitimate daughters of Bikini Kills. In the middle?
